Advice & Support Services

The impact of a brain injury can be far-reaching and long lasting for both the individual and those around them.

Our range of advice and support services are designed to give clients, families and carers the information, practical guidance and emotional help throughout their recovery, and provide ongoing support for the future.

Our advice and support services and monthly support groups are part of the reassurance services as set out in our 5R Model, and are free of charge to users.

Advice and Support

Our advice and support team provide emotional support, practical advice such as information about funding of services, and signposting. This is available to anyone affected by an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and the West Sussex borders. The team will make initial contact over the phone to talk though the available options, which is then followed by a home assessment. Funding options will be explained and a suitable service plan agreed based on the individual needs of the client.

The Rediscover Group

We also hold weekly group meetings for people with brain injuries, which are user-led and facilitated by Headway staff.

Monthly Support Groups

Our monthly support groups are held for anyone affected by an acquired brain injury including family, friends and carers. These provide an opportunity for clients and carers to share experiences and provide mutual support to each other.
