Occupational Therapy students blog: Online Groups & Cookery

Hello Again, it’s Jo and Callum here, the Occupational Therapy (OT) students.

We wanted to let you know what we’ve been up to since our last post.

Over the last week we have been fortunate enough to visit some clients of Headway alongside the Wellbeing Support Workers and joined in with some monthly online support groups. It’s been nice to get to know people and get an insight into how brain injuries can impact on daily life.

Something that has been particularly interesting was the art and yoga groups and how these have been centred around individual needs whilst taking place online. These groups offer an opportunity to improve not only physical health, but mental health and wellbeing all by taking part in activities. This approach is at the heart of OT.

We’ve been inspired by the groups this week and are finalising our plan to form an online home-based cooking group.

And we’re looking for your help with recipe ideas, so please let us know if you have any recipe ideas using ingredients in the photo below by getting in touch on social media or dropping us an email. Thank you!
