We are delighted to take part in the Sussex Artwave Festival this year. Following on from the success of our first HEADSCAPES art exhibition at the Jubilee Library in June; this will be the second opportunity for everybody to come and enjoy the fantastic artworks created by our clients at Headway East Sussex.
Artworks on display
On display will be the popular “Brighton” artwork and “The Happiness Machine” plus many others. We have created a set of 5 beautiful postcards which can be purchased for £2.50. All donations go towards supporting the services we provide to the brain injury community.
Art as a therapy
Art as a therapy stimulates many parts of the brain on both the right and left sides, verbal and non-verbal, which works to improve the links between the component parts of the brain to make it stronger. Many of our clients who never thought they could draw or paint have discovered their creative side by trying their hand at various forms of art.
Our sessions here at Headway East Sussex are inspired by accomplished artists and supported by art therapy volunteers who are trained to help our clients explore the emotions and feelings they are experiencing and to express them through their art.
We will be open on Sunday 19th August and Bank Holiday Monday 27th August from 10am – 4pm. Cream tea refreshments will be available. We are venue number 13 on the rural trail.
Please come along and support us.
