Cycling uphill for Headway East Sussex

Our Woodwork Instructor, Anastasia Malaveta, blew off the winter cobwebs by taking on the Sigma Sports South Downs Spring Sportive bike ride challenge to raise funds for Headway East Sussex.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the South Downs; the route involves steep hills and challenging climbs with incredible descents down into beautiful open country lanes.

Anastasia managed to complete 35 miles starting off in Plumpton and then cycling to the pretty villages of Offham, Barcombe, Ringmer, Isfield, Piltdown and South Chailey.

On completing her target, she said, “Despite the gruelling hills, I have successfully completed the challenge in 2 hours and 49 minutes. I only started cycling in earnest this year, so I am very pleased with my time. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and cheered me on.”

To date, Anastasia has raised over £550 – a fantastic sum for Headway East Sussex.
