One of our keenest supporters, Julie Essex, has taken on the Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race. This is a gruelling five day event with views of Mount Everest.
The 100 mile course traverses through isolated jungle, pine forests, small settlements and villages, and across major rivers. Yaks, wild ponies, and the Red Panda are seen at higher elevations.
On completing her target, she said, “I have made it safely home from my massive challenge of the Himalayan 100 Mile Stage Race. I completed the five days of run/walking the 100 miles, going up to 12,500 ft, in 28 hrs 52 mins. It felt good and strong everyday!”
To date, Julie has raised over £1,200 – an amazing sum for Headway Way East Sussex.
