What is an acquired brain injury


An acquired brain injury is an injury caused to the brain since birth. There are many possible causes, including a blow to the head, tumour, stroke, lack of oxygen to the brain or infections such as encephalitis.

Traumatic brain injury is one type of brain injury caused by a blow to the head typically through road traffic collisions, falls or assaults.
